Mara de Luca

Mara De Luca is a New York-based painter whose work brings together the traditions of European painting, postwar abstraction, and the contemporary sublime. Drawing on light, atmosphere, landscape, and illusion, she creates paintings that move between representation and abstraction while exploring the emotional and perceptual possibilities of color. De Luca received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts and BA from Columbia University. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and is held in numerous public and private collections.
